64 stepside project

All new here.. first project. Needed a truck and decided to go the route of picking up and old truck and fixing it up. Found this beast on Craigslist, mostly original, inline 6. These are the pics from the cl ad, it's in the shop getting all of the mechanical stuff fixed so I can drive it, then on to the cosmetics. Lots to learn!

First things to do
- remove trailer hitch in rear bumper
- remove 3rd party blinker box and put blinker back to original state on steering column
- Put original mirror on driver door
- start looking for what rims I'll put on, thinking of 15x8 steel wheels painted white

Mechanically, had to have cracked head fixed, cam replaced, carb rebuilt, radiator core fixed, braked from top to bottom replaced, bearings in rear axle, and u-bolts on rear end replaced. Was a bit more than expected when we looked at the truck prior to purchase.

Re: 64 stepside project

Have been working mostly on electrical and interior. Removed cupholder screwed into dash, horn button mounted to dash, blinker assembly mounted to steering column. Found that prior owner chopped up the steering column and I might need new column.

Replaced drivers side mirror, added 1964 GA plate on front

Re: 64 stepside project

Getting things straightened out has its surprises at times. Looks good.
