Where to find an Ignition switch?

So, I just bought a 67 C10 swb and it does not have a proper ignition switch, but rather a hole where it used to be.

I am trying to find an original style switch and key/tumbler barrel to go with it.

Additionally, I'm also looking for a new/replacement key/tumbler (matching) for the door and glove box.

Thanks for any help with this!

Re: Where to find an Ignition switch?

The ignition switch is easy. Your local NAPA or other parts store should be able to get you one. I think they can get you a matching set of locks too. If you source the internet you may pay more because of shipping. I'm not sure if the glovebox even had a locking option. Dont forget to look around the Parts section of the forum too. Plenty O' parts there too.

Welcome to the forum!!!!

Re: Where to find an Ignition switch?

P.S. The ring is 67 specific if you wanna be correct. You'll also need the last adapter piece that the ring threads onto.

Re: Where to find an Ignition switch?

thanks Nick!

noted chevytruckluver. I am also noticing that mine is indeed a 67, but it has the 'apache' style front end, which is confusing me. Did such a thing exist in 67?

Thanks again guys.

mods? can you move this post/thread to the correct spot in the forums please?

okay, now you went and said something about a 'ring'. ;-)

I guess this is the piece or bezel that the switch goes into?

Thanks again!

Just the one my buddy snapped today and threw up on facebook.

Apologies for my goofy mug being in the shot.

Re: Where to find an Ignition switch?

Hmm. Lets see a side profile of that truck. Looks like its a 66 to me. The quad lights mess me up with what year it actually is. But, yeah, when I said ring I meant bezel. Sorry bout that!

Re: Where to find an Ignition switch?

Doing some quick research you may have a late 66 with a 60-61 grill.

Re: Where to find an Ignition switch?

oh boy. The title has the truck listed as a 1967, but from what y'all are saying (and it makes sense), it must be at least a 66 if not earlier.

The VIN listed on the title is: 1C154J113492 , which is the same as what I pulled off of the vehicle as well.

I tried looking at some of the VIN decoders but my VIN didn't seem to be lining up with the schema the decoders were suggesting.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=316902

turns out it is a 1961 1/2 ton long bed made in Janesville.

Mystery solved! ;-) thanks guys!

I guess I'll repost this over in the 60-66 boards.

Re: Where to find an Ignition switch?

So does the 61 on your title look like 67 or is it a misprint?

No, it's clear as day 1967. It's like someone didn't know the year so they winged it and the DMV person just took them at their word.

I'm not sure if it's worth the bother to mention it or just let it roll as a 67.

I'll do some digging or call the DMV and see what they say.
