electrical woes

tonight i got out to go get some bread and tea from the grocery store and on the way i noticed that my left turn signal indicator was stuck on, and that i did not have a left signal. both front and rear marker lights worked and hte tail light but the fron signal light was dead and wheni trurned on the signal the front marker got dimmer but didn't blink and the rear did nothing. right side stuff all works fine. this just started tonight. anyone have any ideas? thanks

If all had been working correctly before, it is probably either a bad turn signal switch or a bad ground. Obviously, check all of the ground connections first. Especially from frame to body.

Replace the bulb in the front left.

As Longhorn just said, try replacing the bulb. I should of mentioned it myself.

well i really haven't checked the ground but the turn signal works fine when the headlights are off, its just fudged when they are on. also the left headlight doesn't have a high beam, not that has any relavance. any more ideas? thanks

If the headlights being on cause the turn signal not to work then definitely you have a ground problem. Sometimes the socket to reflector loses contact so after checking ground on the housing if the problem remains, check that.
