Spare Tire Carrier Latch

Does anyone have a pic of the latch mechanism on an original external spare tire carrier?

If you are talking about a swing-away tire carrier, here is the only pic I have of mine. I will be doing some work with it soon, so let me know if you need a better shot.

Thanks for the pics! My swing away carrier is complete - except for the latch. I should easily be able to machine a new one.

Where can I find one of those

I've been thinking of making a swing away spare holder. If I could buy one I'd rather do that. Does anyone know where I can find one?
Thanks

BobbyK's pics beat the crap out of mine. Bobby, do you have some pics of how it mounts on the sides (Do the for the top side bracket go all the way through?).

Dru - You are probably at the best place here. I've seen some on ebay before. I bought mine from a boardmember, but I haven't installed it yet.

Thanks NuBomb. I just keep waiting. My spare now is strapped to the rollbar behind the seats. I'd like to gain the cargo space back.

Here's the bottom bracket

top bracket

Top bracket is backed-up by this bracket on the inside of the rear quarter panel. The area that the backing plate goes is not accessable from the insidethe truck.
The long rod is used to feed it up into position through the rear side marker light.

All the pic's of my tire carrier can be seen

I have found a complete one, however there is at least one person ahead
of you, with shipping to CALI it will probably run around $200, see below,

Still waiting for him to get back to me, he is very, very, very slow

Re: Spare Tire Carrier Latch

Just wanted to share that are 2 styles of carriers. Long and short. The ones in your photo are the long style. The short style takes the tailgate latch that’s triangle shaped (smaller) . The longer style carrier take the latch pictured here.
