What did you get done!

It's that time again! Time for our weekly report of what you did this week. I spent most of my weekend working in my yard. I have been putting concrete around all the stone pathways around my pool to prevent weeds from growing in between the stones. I got the last on (for now) done today. As soon as I get the forms busted and the slag cleaned up I'll post some pics.

Beyond that I did get something truck related done. I went to meet Greg (454HO) on Saturday and look at his project(s). His 77 is coming along pretty good. He was hoping to have the motor fired by today. He also has a driveway full of other toys that he let me drool on.

The reason I meet him was to pick up a part for my 77 Cheyenne. His 77 came with intermittent wipers and he didn't plan to use them. He gave me the switch, module, and harness. That's right, I said free! He wouldn't take a dime for any of it. How cool is that......

good score N2TRUX!!

I fitted my new rear wheels. I had to roll the fender lip a little. I think I am going to lower the rear a few more inches. I should just bag the damn thing.
I have yet to paint the cab/front clip so no whole truck pics yet........

other than that I did not do much of anything this weekend

Replaced my flywheel and torque converter, actually started Thursday and finished Saturday morning, been driving her ever since. Oh yea, I put gas in it for the first time since I bought it on 9-1.

WOW the wheels look sweet & HUGE! All I got done was...
My 16 year old got his drivers license & was bummed that we didnt have his 69 truck done yet so I asked him if he wanted to trade me for my 96 s10. He was pretty excited but I think I may have been happier in the end. He has a good vehicle that we can both trust now & I have another old truck!!! Ive been busy trying to finish it now because I need something to drive now. Not much to my 84 but as soon as the old one is on the road, Im all over it. Decided today I may even treat the 84 to a paint job. I was just going to run it in primer but Im going to do black primer on the 69 so one beater will be enough...corn

I took all the "bling" (moulding and trim rings) off the 81 and started taking the bed off the 66.

On Friday during my lunch break, I went by the machine shop & picked up the heads from the 350 I got from N2TRUX. They required only minor refreshening & the bill for everything was only $200 so I was happy. I worked from 4:30a ~ 9:00p & then my GF picked me up to go see a movie. I went back by work after the show to pick up my truck & tie up some loose ends. I didn't get home until about 1:30a Sat. so it was a long day.

I was on call this weekend so sure enough @ 5:30a Sat morning my phone starts ringing (so much for sleeping in ). I went in to work until about 3:00p & then went home & fell asleep on the couch for an hour or so. My GF woke me up around 6 because she had invited some of her friends over to shoot some pool (our first official pool party on the new table) so I had to get cleaned up & ready.

I slept in this morning after a late night & watched some football this afternoon. In between, I trial fit the tilt column going in my 68 during the 6cyl/3spd to V8/auto swap & played around w/the proper positioning of the swap meet bucket seats I got a while back.

I also moved a bunch of stuff to the newly rented storage unit so I'm made some progress in the garage clean-up (I can easily walk thru the garage now ).

I got the 89's new 355 running, and got my the tranny working somewhat properly. I still need to work on the TV cable, cause it isn't working correctly quite yet.

I guess, get to drive the beater for a few more days...

I headed to visit my folks for the weekend. Before making the visit, I stopped at a Goodguys show. They feature rods, customs, classics and trucks thru '72. But, a couple of 73-87s caught my eye in the parking lot and the swap area. Jeezz, it seems I may have spent more time checking out the blue one in outside in the parking lot than I did the rods inside the gates.

BTW, I think they're gonna race the truck.

All I got done after you left Saturday is finish rebuilding the carb and install the Holley fuel pump. Yesterday I was just too darn lazy to do anything. I did watch a little bit of the Texans game... pathetic.

Had 2 new tires put on the Tahoe to get ready for the drop. 235/60/15 BFG's. Paid the price for the lower tier tire because they were out of them. Woohoo.

I started trimming a ton of the neglected trees at our newly acquired house as well.
