JB Weld works real well in cases like that. If it's not leaking now though, I'd leave whatever is on it there.

The patch is leaking. Had to siphon the gas out of the tank, now need to fix right.

Re: Hole in my gas tank

Jb Weld works great. I had to fix the tank in my 84 ranger like that. There was a hole from where the wrecking yard drained the tank. I found a metal piece (used to plug/cover holes in electrical conduit boxes) that was similar in size and glued it in. Just make sure the surrounding area is nice and clean and it should last al ong time.

Re: Hole in my gas tank

I found something new to me this weekend. I had a small hole in my water pipe and could not get to the cutoff becuase it was to far out of reach. I cut off the main water and used some plumbers putty to patch it. When it dried it was like a rock and when I turned the water back on no leaks, still not leaking. This stuff comes in a plastic tube and you cut off the amount you need and nead it for about a minute and put it on. It will get rock hard within a hour.
