steering gear box
does anyone now if you can dajust steering gear box. mine has a little bit of play. have already checked the rest of steering components, all seem good and tight and no play in steering shaft, thanks scott.

Yup, there is a little set screw held inplace by a nut. Find the right size allen tool and while holding the set screw loosen the nut. Screw in the set screw about 1/2turn, tighten the nut to hold the set screw and check your internal slop or play. BE VERY careful not to over tighten the set screw as your gearbox will get hot fast.

I would take it up in quarter increments. If you get it too tight, it could lock up in a turn--not pretty. What you are doing is bringing the gear teeth closer to each other to take out play. It should never have any binding so too tight is way worse then a bit too loose. Huck
