power steering pump shaft styles?

Does anyone know what years or style power steering pumps have the keyway shaft on them? I want to use all billet pulleys and most catalogs say only with keyway shaft.

Re: Power steering pump help?????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

there is absolutely NO difference in the pumps between a small block or a big block for our model trucks, the difference is in the brackets ONLY.

early style (late 50's thru mid 60's) pumps had 3/4" in shafts with NO keyway and the pulleys were pressed on.

later (mid 60's up) style pumps had a 1/8" keyway in the pulley ... unsure of shaft size, this was pretty much the standard pump until GM went to the serpentine pulley/belt system ... and some claim the only difference then was the pulley, I can't say.

I have a ZOOP'S press on 3/4" shaft single groove pulley if you are interested, it is polished billet FORGED aluminum , not the Cheap Chinese cast version.

Let me know if you're interested & I can get you a pic or two.
