question about airbags

im kind of new to the board but i am building a 64 chevy truck lwb, i have bought a frame that goes to 85 chevy that i am going to drop the crossmember and front suspension to put on my 64, i also want to put air bags on it what kind of modifications will i have do to the suspension to put airbags on, i also want to try keep the stock control arms and trailing arms but go as low as possible. thanks for any info

The real question is, do you want to lay rocker, have an adjustable ride height, or just be able to haul stuff. Airbags are awesome, I am laying out my truck to the rockers, and it involves alot more then just putting bags on your truck. If you are satisfied with dropping your truck to the front and rear crossmembers, you can use bags in your stock coil pockets to lay it down that far. Just ask what you want to do, and there is wealth of information that people are willing to share on here.

well i would really like to lay rockers but i dont have the money to do a lot of upgrades and i have not a lot of experience when it comes to suspension and frame work.

If you want to lay rocker, you need to buy Porterbuilts dropmember kit, or z the frame up front, notch the rear frame, and rework the crossmembers under the truck. It's a pain to go this far, but thats the price you must pay to go this low.


And for who asked the question, rockers are the panels on the body beneath the doors.
