Re: My cheap fan build......
Nice. I'm all bragging on the stupid thing and it quit working on my on the way home yesterday. Truck got up to 240 degrees breifly. Turns out the fuse was too close to the radiator and melted. I bout the plug in stile/waterproof to replace somewhere away from the radiator. Doah!

Re: My cheap fan build......
Ever since I replaced the burned up fuse holder/fuse with the new setup I'm blowing fuses. So, I replaced the fuse and disconnected one of the fans to see if dropping the load would help. It did. Right now I'm only running one relay and I think optimally I should be running one relay per fan right?

Re: My cheap fan build......
That is probably the problem, the relay I bought was made for daul fans and had two fuse blocks with it, both of mine are 20 amp fuses. So far I have not had any problems but I have up graded to a 100 amp internal reg. alt. I was maxing out my factory alt. with fans, air cond. and lights. I will look tonight to see what kind relay I have (at work right now). Hope this may help! Brian

Re: My cheap fan build......
I'm running a Bosch I got from my speed shop but I think they have the same one at autozone. I'll check tonight and wire in a separate one.
Are you running a thermastat? Currently I am not but will at some point. |

Re: My cheap fan build......
Yes,It is adjustable,You just wait until your thermostat open up (by feeling the rad. hose ) then turn the knob until the fan comes on!! I found where I bought mine at, it was at oreilly auto parts(HAYDEN COOLING PRODUCTS - FAN CONTROL (ADJ THERMOSTATIC) $33.24 part #3647 They had different ones but the manager is a freind of mine (Has a great looking 67 step side)and he told me about this one!
