3/4 ton rear end???

A friend of mine is doing some work on a 71 3/4 ton 4x4. He thinks the rear end is out of a 1 ton dually. He would like to put in the correct rear end. Will one owrk out of a 73-87 3/4 ton 2wd???

Re: 3/4 ton rear end???

It probably is the original rear axle. I have a '72 3/4ton with a Dana 60 dually rear axle from the factory.

I think the DRW rear ends are narrower due to different hubs.

A 73 and up 3/4 ton axle will work, but you will need to move the spring perches. I forget how much, a search should turn it up.

and a DRW rear dana 60? I want to see pics of this.
