Neighbor has 72 longhorn with a BB and it's a NICE clean truck. Talking to him he has plans to make it a shorty cause he wants a 2wd shorty BB truck with air..I have tried talking him out of it and even offered to trade my 2 shorty trucks I have for his one, won't do it..I haven't given up yet but it kinda pisses me off that someone is gunna cut up a nice truck to make something else out of it. I even told him I'd let him have the BB, just didn't want him to make a cut...

i dont like when people cut a long box, but to each his own... it might just push the long boxes price up a bit, but its his truck.

let him know that a longhorn has a very stiff frame that is made of thicker metal and alse a taller C chanel, and would probably be the worst riding 2 wheel drive SWB on earth. and that it's one of 3328 built, but only a small % came well equipped like that.

Yes, that is a one-ton frame and I think it even measures a different width between frame rails...not going to make a very nice SWB!!! Some guys believe "If they can think it-they can do it".
Let me know when he is through "hacking" on it and I will buy it for parts...LOL

frame rails are the same distance apart... at least, from the front bumper to the auto tranny cross member (same cross member as a 1/2 ton, with spacers underneath) and the rear bumper/brackets will bolt right onto a 1/2 ton truck also.

Some people just like to mess up a good thing i guess --- sounds like he is not properly schooled in Longhorn-ology. Turn him onto this website and he might change his mind

that won't tell you much at all... you'll want a photo of the SPID to see what it is.
