column swap from a 73-87 chevy
I have a steering column from a 73-87 (dont know extact year) and it has tilt, wipers switch, and hazards.
My original column on my 68 c10 does not have tilt so I perfer installing the other. My questions: Is this a tough install? Iam I better off selling and getting a different type? If so, what kind? What will I encounter or need for a sucessful installation? Thanks fellas Last edited by C10Sim; 12-13-2008 at 03:16 PM. |

Re: column swap from a 73-87 chevy
can anyone knowledgeable elaborate on the swap or the difference?
I have a 73-up steering column in my burb installed by the previous owner and plan on swapping it out for an ididit column. eyeballing the parts suggests there are enough differences between the shaft and the steering box that I will have to locate/fabricate something in between. --steve

Personally I would get a Ididit steering column, they make a direct fit for out trucks, you can get a chrome or painted, and they are fairly reasonable on the price, usually under 400.00
