Whoa....I'm gonna say that it looks like a cowl that had an antenna on it that had been finished.
What are you looking for in your finished "radio delete" cowl?

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
pretty sure all cowls were solid// antennas were placed on the front seat at the factory and installed by the dealers after delivery

Why don't you just go all the way and delete the grillwork too...

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
I was just looking for pics of trucks with no antenna. I have a radio delete cowl and was wondering what trucks looked like with no antenna to see if I want to use it or not.

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
fit was very good... bolted right up. Just roughed up primer and painted. I used a couple extra washers on the side bolts, behind the doors as I didn't want to over tighten/crush the fiberglass. Comes with new rubber strip and allen side bolts

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
haysonj... was a radio listed on the SPID?
custom campers (camper special is a ford ) shouldn't have it mounted like that. |

It was $225 when I got mine last March. Here's the thread when I first got it.

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
The spid was painted over so don't know if it had a factory radio It had CST emblems on it and had a custom emblem on the glove box. Found the truck on a farm and the woman said her dad was the original owner. It may have come with no radio and that is where the original owner mounted it.

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
I was thinking that, or, since it is a factory radio... it could have been dealer installed.
Kinda sounds like it was rebadged somewhere too.... CST on the fenders woulda gotten it CST on the glove box door... does it have a headliner? |

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
I put one in it but no it did not come with one. the guy that owned it changed a few things because the door panels had pesos and centavos drilled and used for trim washers

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
Dad's 71 GMC was a factory radio delete truck. I just realized I do not have a picture of the truck on that side. You can see the radio delete plate in one photo, though. The other cab is in a wrecking yard. I am thinking of buying it, although it will need a "patch panel". It is rust free, even the rockers !

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
There was also the Ultra-Rare Corvette Option (RPO#OU812) hood mounted antenna. They had to do this because the HI PERF ambulance engines that came with the Corvette option had so much torque that the antenna would break the windshield on hard launches. My shop truck had that option. Even though it is a super rare option, I decided to "patch" mine. Here's how I did it.

My 69 swb didn't come with a radio but it still has a factory antenna in the cowl. Is that rare or was that pretty standard.

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
My truck has a delete cowl and a radio delete plate on the dash. I have seen on LMC they sell radios that are the same size as the orignal ones. Are they any good?

I really like the look of the shaved cowl panel, for you guys that do have them, what are you using for a radio antenna? Can you get a aftermarket windshield with one in it? TIA

Re: Any pics of trucks with the factory radio delete cowl?
I don't have a radio, so I don't have an antenna, but the other day I saw some universal antennas that you put inside your truck, and it said most people mount them at the top of the windshield or the top of the rear window. I think I either saw it at Brothers or GMCPaul's
