Re: Looking for some Chrome work to be done?
Don't use "Plate Right" on Webster St. in Dayton. Cost me $1000.00 to plate the chrome on the front of my truck. Not happy with it at all. That was back before you could buy it new, like ya can now. Coulda bought it now for about $750.00 .

Re: Looking for some Chrome work to be done?
There are some chrome platers in this area. If you are looking outside your state and want a contact, I will post the information for you.

Re: Looking for some Chrome work to be done?
I used the Bumper Boyz in CA. They re-chromed, and straightened my front and rear bumpers. Excellent job, and about $230 each.I also had my top door panel strips done, but they were $90 each, which I thought was high. Shipping would have been expensive, but they came to a big swap meet near me and I dropped my parts off, Then they came back to Daytona a month later and I picked them up, hence, no shipping! You can call them for more info at 800-815-9009. I was happy with the results, and the finish was alot nicer than NOS. Show Quality Good Luck

Re: Looking for some Chrome work to be done?
In all honesty I've heard nothing but horror stories about Bumper Boyz over on the Jalopy Journal.
Advanced Plating in Nashville is a top notch outfit. I had a tour of their facility while we were in Nashville for Goodguys last summer. |

Thanks...I'll be in Nashville next week. Maybe I'll stop in if I get some spare time.

Re: Looking for some Chrome work to be done?
They're right behind the Titans stadium in an industrial park. It's just off the interstate and a breeze to find. I agree with bringing the parts with you that you want chromed if possible. You'll get a more accurate quote and won't have to ship em to Nashville.

Re: Looking for some Chrome work to be done?
Where ever you go, get to chatting and get a tour of the facility.
Not only do you see the everyday workmanship and quality but can begin to appreciate all that goes into quality plating. IMHO, our best local shop is Art Brass Plating in Seattle. Well over 100 years old and VERY good. It doesn't hurt that I have a friend down there but any really good shop should be happy to give a tour and explain the process. |
