ok, yeah I ve been out of work way too long, but back to my question, I bought a set of new headlamps to put in my 72, did I buy low beam only?, is there a way to tell , I threw the boxs away months ago, if the are only a single beam and not low high beam.........
sorry I just dont know, because I bought a new dimmer switch and I cant see a change from high to low

Are they interchangeable with the GMC's?

I looked at my GMC high beam. You can see it if you shine a light into the glass and at a certain angle you can see the filament. It has a single filament. My low beams are halogen and I don't know what the difference is, but it still only has one halogen lamp.

I would think if it was a hi/low light, it should have two filaments.

a high/low beam will have 3 prongs to connect the wiring to. A high beam only will only have 2. The dimmer switches can be fussy on our trucks?

is this a chevy or a GMC?
If it is a chevy, then you can only get hi/low lamps.
Plus, in reality, if you had the wrong lamp, the lights would turn off when you hit the other setting (hi or low) and then you'd probably notice it.
