Another rescue mission story with pics...

Went with a friend to a salvage yard I have been to several times and noticed a 1959 4 door Belair I have not seen. Its been there over 30 years. The next thing you know, I paid the man 300 bucks and its mine. I need to find a trailer to get it home. The man I bought it from is going to help me get it outa its hole its in. I have a lot of work to do on it.

Re: Another rescue mission story with pics...

I also just talked with a buddy of mine who has a friend that is restoring one. He has a parts car that is complete minus the trim. He said I can have the car for free if I will remove the front cap for him! Score! I hope it has a nice frame on it. I will build that frame and move this body over to it. this one is in the mud and I don't know if its good or not. I will have to wait till some nice weather to move it, but for 300 bucks, the glass is worth that alone and to still have 99% of all its trim! I just need to find a trailer now...

That car looks very restorable! So does a lot of stuff he has! Nice find!

That 4 door '57 looks like it's worth taking home too!

Re: Another rescue mission story with pics...

He has a ton of stuff I would LOVE to have. I also got some new corner glass for my 48 chevy truck. I may sell all my other cars now to have some money for this one. All but a few that is. I must finish my 68 first!

Re: Another rescue mission story with pics...

Wow... just buy the land from him and advertise some of the amazing deals you have there.

There are too many capable bodies there to just let it all rust out.

I wish I had taken that chance with the 51 Caddy and kept the 60 Ford F250 I had a decade ago...

It always amazes me how come there is not a junkyard like that around my neck of the woods.
Thanks for sharing the picts,,,,definetly I see some potential on some of those buckets...

Re: Another rescue mission story with pics...

This thing is crazy straight. The rust is the only thing that sucks. It has a ton. I think I can fix most of it though. I actually found the hood to it in another section of the yard. It has all the trim on it as well. I also found the other tail light trim and housing close to where the hood was.
