84 K10 Questions

Does anyone make a full K10(84) rear disc brake kit?

Is this dual steering stabilizer a good deal? What is the best one available? http://www.ultimateautoaccessories.c...PROD/STS/92660

Is it worth it to buy dual shock mount kits? For front and rear? Who makes the best?

Who makes 2" lift springs or stock? I cant find any.

What is the advantage of having Warn Locking hubs?

All help and more info on anything K10 related appreciated.

Re: 84 K10 Questions

For rear disk brakes you need to ID your axel and google it. There are several conversion kits out there.
Dual steering stabalizers is mostly for looks ~ IMO
Dual shocks are for looks, one good shock does the job ~ IMO
Lift Kits = Google it
Warn locking hubs are stronger than stock ~ IMO

Good Luck
Burt

Re: 84 K10 Questions

I agree with Burt.Doesn`t your truck have factory quad shocks? They did that for the added weight with wimpy factory shocks on diesels. But,I`ve never had a 1/2 tonner.I stay with the quad shocks but went with Rancho 9000RSXs set on soft.I don`t need alot of flex for that vehicle`s use.I`m sure one good shock would do the trick.
Dual stabilizers? One real big tires on the hiway they have their place.I like the horizontal type.On the Rancho stacker dual set-up I put them one each direction even though they are dual action.Brand doesn`t matter one stabilizers.
If you are talking Warn or any other manual hub vs factory automatic, the autos are for people who are afraid of getting dirt on thier shoes who rarely or never need 4wd.They don`t hold up to real stress.More like a slippery road item, only.
You know the `88-ups ran semi-floater 14-bolts in 6-lug.IMO,the best 6-lug rear. Not that the 12-bolt won`t do ya fine.Millions out there are.I just recommend them when replacing a rear.

Re: 84 K10 Questions

My K10 has single shocks, not dual. Is there an advantage to either one?

I didnt understand what you said about the stabilizers.

The truck has manual hubs now, is there an advantage to getting Warn hubs?

It has a Corporate 10 front diff and 10 bolt rear diff. I have found a few rear disc kits, but none that are 4x4 specific.
