Sweet, I found a new engine

OK, yea, I know I can buy an engine anywhere, but this one came along and was too good to not do.

A few things.. we are buying a house, so I couldnt do ALL i wanted to here, but we did want to use the truck to help move for sure (its only 3 miles away)

So, I found a SBC 350 from a 70'a C10.

Some snippets from the ad's and emailing the owner (it was a girl, and she knows more about this **** than me, I have to admit)

Quote:
It is from another truck, so it was an original block, not a new one...I can get the numbers off of it for you tomorrow. It has heads and block, no intake, no brackets, no carbs- everything should be switchable- except as you said the carbs- probably want to go with a 4bbl instead.

The casting number is 3970010 he couldn't find a date code but it is a two piece rear main seal and two bolt main caps.

I'll have a parts list so you can know what components were used for rods, pistons, rings, cams, and etc.

The heads are done & complete. The engine has been dipped, cleaned, bored .30 over and the crankshaft ready to go
I am basically getting it for about 2k INSTALLED (this is huge, cause I have neither time nor skill to complete this right now)

Also, the current owner agree to 750 up front, 750 when her friend has it running and in my truck, so that helps me over the "buying a used engine" thing

Ill likely need to drop another 500 for a bigger intake manifold and carb, and then next winter I will hopefully be able to swap the glide to a th350.

I am so psyched. Engine is being built now
