76 K10 Fuel sender and fuel questions
I just put the driver's side fuel tank in my long bed. We couldn't find the dang new fuel sender so I've got to get another one.
Does anyone know if its a three or four port design? I don't want to use the stock fuel lines (which I don't have anyway). I want to route my own lines. Has anyone reengineered fuel lines that are simpler than the stock configuration? I'll buy another sender but I do need to know if its a three or four port configuration or does it really matter? I can't really see the other fuel sender without taking the bed off now. Not ready to do that right now unless I have to do so. That will disable the truck before I'm ready to finish the work. Do both tanks have to be vented or just one? Can you draw fuel from the crossover line with a T or is that too far to pull the fuel? Can you draw from one tank and have both equalize? If you have a 3 line fuel pump, then you need a 3 port sender. One for 3/8" fuel feed, a 5/16" vapor canister line, and a 1/4" that is the return from either the fuel pump, or the switching valve (if you have dual tanks). Otherwise, you need a 2 port sender. The 4 ports were used on Blazers and Subs IIRC.
