In Search Of/Want To Buy top & bottom alternator brackets for '60-'66 GMC 305 V6.

tony, I might have some, my gmc 4000 has a 351, and the alt is on the right side, I will try to get a pic for you to see if they look like the right one...

I have checked out several online and all of them had the alternator on the passenger side. The partial brackets I have are on the passenger side, as well, so I am going to go that route.

I need to wire it, once I get it mounted. There are three wires to hook up. The wires are Blue, Black & Red. Any suggestions?

On my 351,there are only 3 pieces for the alternator mount.
The top adjusting bar and 2 parts that fit together to hold the bottom.
They are the same as a 305's mounts.
If you can't find them,you could probably make the bottom parts.

I ended up installing the factory generator and mount, but I want to go with a modern alternator and brackets.

I meant the brackets are a hour from me.....
But now that you mention it, they might be generator brackets...

I found the factory generator and brackets, so I installed them and hooked it up like this:

tony, I forgot my camera, but my upper bracket is the same as you have, however the lower is huge, the fenderwell is actually notched our from the factory to make room for it, I assume the bracket has provisions for an air pump that might not have been used on my truck. I will still try to get some pics for you, but I don't know if mine will work on your 1/2 ton...

I have seen generator converted to a 12v alternator on street rods.

The album is the one with the pic of my 68 truck.The engine is sitting on the floor in pic 30.Not a good picture,but shows the alternator mounted.There may be other pictures of it in there too.
