Rear/Corner Cab Trim Removal

How do you get the corner trim (with the Bow Tie emblems) of the corners of the cab on my '85 C-10?

I thought you removed the rear corner interior panels where the seat belt bolts and there would be a bolt or nut to remove the corner trim with, but it's solid on my truck. Does it just clip to the cab? Thanks.

Re: Rear/Corner Cab Trim Removal

It clips on. The rear trim can be slid off once you get the corner trim off.

Re: Rear/Corner Cab Trim Removal

Thanks, is it safe to pry it off or do you need a trim removal tool?

Re: Rear/Corner Cab Trim Removal

I removed a set a while back and I pried one off and had to straighten it. I pried the other side off very carefully after I removed the rear trim and only had to straighten a dog eared corner. You may be able to use a trim removal tool though. I removed just the trim, not clips and all.

Re: Rear/Corner Cab Trim Removal

If you remove the corner speaker and reach up there, there is a 10mm (I think) cap nut holding that clip to the body. Once the nut is removed the corner piece and clip slides straight out. Then the rear trim slides straight off the rear clips. Then the rear clips can be removed off the body posts.

Re: Rear/Corner Cab Trim Removal

I removed them like you suggested and it worked perfect, and your right it is a 10mm bolt.

I'm stripping my truck right now and plan on beginning the slow process of a resto this winter, so I'm trying to keep parts that are in good shape to remain that way. I want it to look brand new again, but with a few mods, 2"/4" drop, after market gauges (Autometer Cobalt), mild 400 SB, chrome 15" Torque Thrust wheels, and some other subtle changes.

Thanks again

Re: Rear/Corner Cab Trim Removal

Ok, good to know. I'll have to remember that for next time.
