Chevy Gmc Fenders??

so i have been looking through some catalogs for parts for my dads 68. I see that the 68 Chevy and the 68-72 Gmc fenders are the same part number in all my catalogs. And i went to pick up a fender last night off craigslist but it was a little rough and he told me the same thing. Have any of you ever heard of this at all? are they actually the same fender? would have to be i think if they use the same part number, would the hood be the same also?? just a few questions haha

That is what I have heard for years on here. If it is said like that on here it must be the gospel. 67-68 and GMC fenders as well as radiator supports and hood are all the same. Correct me if I am wrong guys. And the lines in my opinion are so much more aerodynamic than the 69-72s. But then I own a 67 and 68 C10.

67 chevy anf GMC fenders are the same
68 chevy, and 68 - 72 fenders are the same
69 - 72 chevy fenders only fit 69 - 72 chevys.

Hoods are 67-68 specific.
And 69-72 specific.

so if i get a front clip off of a 67 or 68 gmc the hood will also fit correct?

67 and 68 hoods are the same GMC or chevy.
69 - 72 hoods are the same, GMC or chevy.
Just like the part numbers in your catalog are telling you

alrite thanks man. looks like i have some options now for my dads truck. if i do land up getting one of the whole gmc front clips the stuff we wont use will be on craigslist if your in the sacramento area just a heads up.

so my dad said that he heard if the fenders have the molding on the gmc ones then they wont fit our truck because our hood doesnt have the molding is this correct??

if we are talkinf trim, he's right. If we are talking fenders, he isn't.
Trim holes can be a PITA if dealing with used parts when you start swapping GMC to Chevy. The holes won't line up from GMC trim to Chevy trim, to inclide the fender badge.

alrite he is referring to the trim on the front brow of the fenders. I took a look at a set today and it had the gmc trim i looked at the other fender that didn't have the trim and looks like just a simple fill in the holes and it will work as far as the badge will fill that in and drill my own holes.
