Re: Exhaust on slammed trucks
it can be done, but you will need to:
1. make sure your headers, if your running them, tuck below the frame, 2. route the exhaust through the crossmember 3. running the pipes very close to the bed floor when you loop over the rear axle, or 4. run the exhaust OUTBOARD of the fram rails. seen it done on older rigs.... with careful planning, it can be done!

Re: Exhaust on slammed trucks
I'm running shorty headers with the pipes tucked up in the frame rails through the early classic rear crossmember and dumped before the axle. A raised bed floor would give you more room out back.

Re: Exhaust on slammed trucks
I plan on running a twin turbo sbc, so headers should not be a problem

Re: Exhaust on slammed trucks
What type of rear suspension are you going to run? That will determine how hard it is to get the exhaust all the way to the rear.

Re: Exhaust on slammed trucks
Ya I would use shorty headers as well, they will beable to tuck the exhaust up better. Also I, myself am going to have a new trans crossmember made so I can run a true dual exahust. There isnt alot of room to do so with the stock one. The New crossmember should provide almost 2.5-3"s more clearance for the exhaust and be a hell of alot stronger.
