Flarestat model 105

I have a Flarestat Model 105 Y28. What was it used on? I have googled it and can't find anything.

Matt,

That gets mounted either through your dash or under it (depending on what you like) you have an original and they are on the rare side a bit because of teh bowtie emblem. Use it if you can.

The GMC models are more rare because of the GMC emblem on the knob.

Re: Flarestat model 105

Looking at the connector, I'd say it fits 1959-1962. The 63-66 flashers have curved connectors.

Can't always trust the book. Picture is from the 1963 Chevrolet Custom Accessories Book. There was a jumper setup that after you unplug the original harness off the steering columb, you simply plug in the adapter harness. Mounts under the dash by your ignition switch.

Picture from 1964 GMC Accessories booklet.

You can see it mounted under the key switch.

I didn't really mention them to sell, just that I had 2 of them. I have never used them in my truck. . I took the one out of my one ton when I changed the harness.

Re: Flarestat model 105

Jocko,

That looks like a later model one with the flasher integrated onto the back.

You can still buy them by the way from the original manufacturer, or at least using the original tooling.

old chevy,

So, you could buy a new mechanism and use an old knob on it if you wanted.

I bought mine from Fleet Pride (heavy truck parts chain).

Here is the thread with more than you ever wanted to know.
