Hey guys,

Currently the insured value on my truck is $3500...I want more coverage if I can get it. What do you guys think I can get away with? I guess, if you were an appraiser, based on my pictures, what do you think my truck is worth?

Mechanically sound, a little rust in most of the normal places...probably about a 15 year old resto. What do you think? Be honest. I can take it.

You can't see the rust from the photos but it looks like a 8-10 grand truck. I have been watching the auction reports & they seem to be strong & comeing up in value.
Old car price "guide" shows av #3 at $9750.

Get insurance from Hagerty or something like it. They will give you the value of your older vehicle where a "normal" insurance Co. will not.

Few more pics. Did some rust prevention on the back half of the frame and underside of the bed.

The rust areas are really just a couple holes in the bed floor, one cab corner, and the inner fenders. Everything else is in good shape. The doors have extra mirror holes, but otherwise the exterior panels are in good shape.

I've added tach, tilt, all new window seals...working on the front suspension now.

This is kind of a hard question though, prices vary so much depending on the area.

Yeah, I agree. I think what I might do is take all your guesses and average them.

It will be interesting to see the results.

If $7500 stands it would be fantastic considering I bought it for under three times less than that

X2 on state farm. My brother has his 66 f-150 insured thru them for an agreed value, pretty cheap for him. I think it runs about $25.00 a month, for an agreed value of $7000.00. Joseph

try an insure it as high as you can so you can get money when that rubber gas line fails and you have a fire

I have my 65 insured through State Farm for agreed value of $10K, It isnt what you paid for it, or what you have into it, the value is what is reasonable and customary to purchase a vehicle exactly like it in the current state it is in. So look around at some other trucks similar to yours, same area and document those as best you can, then go to your insurance company and show them what you have, an appraisal will do you right but will cost around $300.00.

3x on state farm. I went with midrange NADA value at the time which was 10,500, currently it's 12,300. By the way, where did you find the rust colored undercoating for the frame

I believe all the Classic insurance is "agreed" Value. Meaning the insurer understands that the car may have more value to you than actually on open market. I have never had anyone ask me to prove what it is worth, but pay a premium based on what I feel it is worth. I usually use the number of I'd only sell it if someone gave me "x" for it. Than if it is a total insurance loss, I wouldnt be at loss.

Mine is not a trailer queen but I have Haggerty. I did a lot of checking around and they had the best coverage for the money. But with that being said...if your going to pull with t or haul logs...that will be an issue.

When it comes to insurance be sure you have an agreed value on your truck.

I have agreedd value of 18000 with Nationwide. They inspected the truck with me and applied the appropriate premium to insure I get that much if it is a total loss.

I am curious, does State Farm or Nationwide put restrictions on mileage and where it is parked (garaged).

yes. I must comply with the rule of the antique plates. Since no safety inspection is required. not daily driven to work etc. pleasure driving and show use only.
