Door sideview Mirros

Hey guys, I just bough some side view mirros for my truck, got the base and the actual mirror. My truck does not have any holes so i was wondering if anybody could post pics of their base to check where I should mount the base exactly. Or does anybody know the exact measurements as to where to drill the holes ? Thanks.

fri 1988: set in your truck and have someone hold the mirrors to where you can see the best, if you are alone, tape them to the door and set in the truck and move them around until you can see out of them ,then you can mark and drill your holes....

Re: Door sideview Mirros

Once taped in place you will need to open the vent window to see that it swings fully without hitting the mirror.
Somebody once posted measurements for the sport mirrors to locate them correctly. Maybe they'll post them again.

It depends on the mirror. It sounds like you are using the one with 3 holes. When I put one on the right side of mine, I took a piece of paper and traced the holes and body line around top corner and then reversed to other side. IF you need I can take pics of mirror arm with measurement.

Re: Door sideview Mirros

here are a few measurements to help you out with those '67-'68 stlye mirrors

From the front door edge (driver side pic'd)
as measured with tape between the holes. Note-if you measure above the hole locations the slope of the door edge will move your measurements. so hold the tape with the top of the tape measure 1" from the body line. little confusing but these should get you real close.

hole 1- 2.75"

hole 2- 4.625"

hole 3- 6.375"

Lower of the three- 1.75" from upper body line
