need help badly... please help.

I'm trying to remove the rear exhaust manifold bolt on the passenger side nearest the firewall and it won't budge. I've rounded it a little bit too but not too bad. I have to lean way over to get at it and then only have about a quarter turn of leverage if I do break it loose... I also can't hardly get anything on it due to the manifold pipe right next to it..... Please help! I want to pull my engine and wanted the manifolds off before I did so.

Thanks in advance,

RIZ

HF has a bolt extractor set for stripped bolts. I would use it. I was able to get mine with an extension on the ratchet.

This doesn't really add to the conversation but you can pull the engine without taking off the manifolds. Just unbolted the pipes and pulled mine. Now I can get to the bolts really easily.

I know, actually I have no exhaust from a few inches past the manifolds but I kinda wanted to pull it out with them off for some reason. I also want to pull the tranny with it......... any difficulties there?

I have a Craftsman extractor set for a 3/8 drive but it won't connect to my 3/8 drive Craftsman extension??? The square hole is too big for the end of the extractor ???

Re: need help badly... please help.

Leave it for now, pull the motor and trans together ( 2 wheel right?) and deal with the bolt once the engine is on the floor or engine stand.
