Header angle and cross member?
installed small block in 84 c-10 short bed stepside ,wanted to run header mufflers straight 4" type. 1st problem headers, seems to angle a bit downward 2nd thing is trans cross member on drivers side will not clear. have th350,and the original single exhaust came up over crossmember on drivers side. will an earlier cross member solve this? and is anyone using header buddies? seams to be a ball socket type of collector that might solve angle problem.thanks

Re: Header angle and cross member?
If your trans crossmember is the one that goes under the frame and up on the outside, then yes an earlier trans crossmember should help.
If your headers are angled down slightly, you will have to heat up the front of the header mufflers, where they bolt to the headers, and bend them upward. If you went with regular mufflers, a short piece of straight tube and the collectors, you should be able to take care of a slight angle in those connections.
