Pullman Camper Body - Where to find one, how much to pay?
Slow Build posted this in the picture thread, and I am possibly infatuated.
How many of these lay about behind a barn, in someones yard, on a farm? And if you were to find one, what sort of money would one expect to pay ? I may just have to get one when I find my truck to buy. This is out of my league, but would love something like this. Thank you for any replies, advice or input.

I've never seen one of those either. I would imagine that if you found one in good shape it would cost a pretty penny.

Re: Pullman Camper Body - Where to find one, how much to pay?
There was one on ebay back in January that didn't get a minimum bid of $1499. I've seen one a while back that was only $600. They come up every once in a while but I would imagine it would cost quite a bit to ship across the pond.

I would hope to fit it to a truck when I find the right one to buy and then to aldd some "stuff" into the rear as well. Plan A was always (well, till I saw this) to buy a closeable/lockable canopy for the truck, and if it were ally, it would het polished. Posted via Mobile Device

Wow! That's kind of mind blowing...when I read that ad I saw the address. I know exactly where it was, I used to live in Downey and drove down that street often.

Great find, have emailed him to ask a price on the canopy. Forgot to ask if it would fit an early 60's C10 Fleetside. Not sure how much the bodies changed in size over time.

Re: Pullman Camper Body - Where to find one, how much to pay?
Sad thing is my father inlaw had one on his `66 when he sold it in `76, truck only had 62.000 miles, he said that the truck had to many miles on it to keep it...

Re: Pullman Camper Body - Where to find one, how much to pay?
NO IDEA ABOUT LOGISTICS
It is in Ventura And I am interested at this point. My questions are these..... Hope some of you have the answers. It seems to be on a newer GMC Long Fleet truck. What are the differences between a loadbody like this and a 60-66 Fleetside dimensions ? I was wondering if there is a universal size, or if these were custom sized and fitted to trucks. WHAT WOULD ONE OFFER FOR ONE OF THESE ?? Seller asked me to make an offer. Any help will be appreciated. It could look like this.

Re: Pullman Camper Body - Where to find one, how much to pay?
I have seen a few in old ads that were being offered at $600. They may have sold for less.

Re: Pullman Camper Body - Where to find one, how much to pay?
In the C/L ad it says it is a longhorn bed. They had a 133" wheelbase and a longer bed than the regular 8' long bed so it might not fit.
I don't know much about the longhorn so you might want to do some research. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Pullman Camper Body - Where to find one, how much to pay?
It's a big gamble not knowing the condition of the inside, so bid like it needs a full rebuild or risk major disappointment.

Then it would have taken some time and effort to restore it, possibly polish some of the sections and paint part of it, or paint it all like the example above. Due to the risk associated, I would top bid at $150 for a good one, and probably $100 or less on the one in that ad. I definitely want an aluminium canopy/camper shell for my truck. It makes life a lot easier when you bring a load of "stuff" with in the container as you could be able to lock it up and secure it. Either way, I would love a part polished, part painted canopy t go to shows with. One of these old Pullmans would just be 200% cooler and greatly functional along with the Grizz-Pod. Unfortunately that one has sold.

Re: Pullman Camper Body - Where to find one, how much to pay?
So Grizz1963, did you ever get your dream Pullman?
After seeing this Yellow truck in Grizz1963's thread, I want one badly too for my 1966 Chevy Custom Camper pickup I just bought. I intend to camp out at Cub Scout events with my 8 yr old son, so I need to find a survivor condition example if possible. Assuming I'll never find a pullman like this, I'd take something like the below toppers if anyone has any leads for a nice 60's longbed topper maybe? Call or Text leads to 256 486 1988 - Thanks, Steve
