Re: Quick Question
Yep - they are all the same ('87 and earlier. '88 and up are different because of the radio).
In fact the Silverado version is just a brushed applique stuck on the same black base part. K

Re: Quick Question
Keith, I do not agree with you. The 83 and earlier interchange, then 84 and up. Remember the difference between the wiper switch...

You are correct - the wiper switch is different. I was focused more on uplevel vs low level within a given model year. K

Re: Quick Question
I was hesitant to speak up with a conflicting opinion against "the man".
Keith, hardly a week goes by that I don't want to ask you a question about these trucks. I have a lot of questions about assembly and why GM did certain things. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Quick Question
Fire away.
Perhaps we should start a new thread, sort of an "open mic" where people shout out questions and I'll see if I can answer them... That's the hard part about these trucks (and trucks in general). There is so much proliferation that you really have to be "on your game" to remember all the little nuances. I can't tell you how often I'll ask an "expert" here at work and get a definitive answer, only to think of some little detail (or have the expert call me back after remembering something) that changes the answer. Re: Quick Question
To interject.... 73-74 are once again their own... due to wiper switch and headlight switch bezel differences... then 75-80 are different than newer due to the corners being more rounded due to dash pad differences. The older bezels will interchange to.newer dashes And I suppose technically the 81-87 will interchange however you are almost guaranteed to crack corners and if you didn't the fitment isn't proper and I personally wouldn't be happy with the fitment. And I wasn't aware of the later break as.mentioned but it makes sense with the switch from in-dash to on-lever wiper delay controls.
