Are you sure it's a D60 and not the bigger stronger heavier Dana 70HD? It should have the 70 factory installed, not a 60, nor a 14FF (14FFs were in SRW trucks) Hint, they share the same cover as the Dana 60, but everything else is bigger and comparable in strength or better to a 14 Bolt Full Floater.

My 87 C30 cab-n-chassis had a 14 bolt in it. But if you have a C & C 14blt then it will bolt right in.

it probably is the 70h but its got some problems ,might need a rebuild down the road, thought id look for a later model 14 bolt to install later ?,if its a easy bolt in ? possibly have to do u-joint modification ?

Re: 83 c-30 -out wdana 60 in w/ 14 blt ?
You are correct, a cab and chassis would have a 14 bolt typically, while regular duallys would have the Dana 70HD. A 73-87 C&C 14 bolt would be a direct bolt in, but may be too narrow if you currently have a dually width Dana 70. You could also bolt in a SRW 14 bolt, it is a little wider than a C&C, but not as wide as a dually axle. As far as later axles, I am not positive, but I think the later 88+ model 14 bolt dually axles have a wider spring perch spacing, so you may have to cut and weld new perches on. Also note, 3/4 ton SRW 14 bolts have wider perch spacing as well.
