Help with front steering stops and bags
So my burb has been bagged for most of the summer now and when I did the front I didnt pay too much attention to the steering stops. Now that Ive been driving it more Ive noticed that when all aired out the bags rub a little on the steering stop on the bottom control arm. What have you guys done with this? Has anyone cut them down or removed them enough to avoid clearance issues. BTW its a 1971 C20 running 2600's up front. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated.

I know there's a lot of you guys here with bagged suburbans. Is anyone having similar issues with rubbing on the steering stop? Can I trim it without having any issues with my steering?

It is best to remove these, and most guys will do this. You will want to make sure the bag doesn't rub on anything, even when aired out, as over time it could cause a failure.
You can always fab up a new, slimmer, steering stop if needed. - Travis |
