C/60 Hood Vents

Just purchased a 1970 C/60 w/ 427, an Allison auto, PB, PS and Tach dash.

I need to purchase a new chrome vent that go on the side of the hood.

Does anyone know where I could find a new one?

Its got one vent on the driver side, but I want to install one on the other side. It looks odd only having one. Needs to be balanced. A '67 Chevelle SS wouldn't look right with just one hood vent either, right?

I've seen a thread where is was mentioned that the 366 trucks have one vent and 427 had two. If there are two vents, does that mean there are two cold air intake ducts to the carb?

Thanks for the help!

Re: C/60 Hood Vents

I did not get to see under the hood of this one but it was at a show earlier this month. Don't remember if it was C60 or C80. It has vents on both sides.

Re: C/60 Hood Vents

I have the 427 emblems also. Now, I just need one more vent.

Another part that I need that I thought about is the cab mount clearance lamps lens. Are these lens easy to find?

Re: C/60 Hood Vents

If you have the ones like the ones shown above, they are called the Fireman's Hat and are available reproduced. Actually any GM issued light lens should be available.

Re: C/60 Hood Vents

The same lense was used into the 80s. good to know about the vents. So they actually have fresh air ducted to the carb? I've never had the pleasure of seeing under the hood of a big block med. duty, only small blocks and 6 cyl.

Re: C/60 Hood Vents

i just spoke with the man that owns the truck i posted above. he says there is a cold air hose that goes to the breather on the left side only. the right side is just for looks to balance the hood out. he said the hose is about 5" diameter.

I purchased a set to replace my lights on my 85 C20. Lens are identical to original, even say "signal stat" on them. Base gasket has been upgraded and bulb holder is part of gasket.

Re: C/60 Hood Vents

It took me a few days to reply, but thanks for the info on the lens.

I'm still looking for a hood side vent, so if anyone hears about one, let me know.

Thanks!
