any Chevy Gurus out there?....
What am I saying of course there is!!!!...haha or maybe anyone willing to take a wild guess as to what these seats came out of?
Back story is that they came out of a late(ish) 60's chevy. Already installed when I bought the truck. The guy couldn't remember what they came out of.... Seems like the top has a spot for a head rest slide. Removing the screws did nothing, it is like the plastic piece is glued to the leather. Looks like one thick rod inside and not the two post style "modern" headrest. Seat moves forward sliding on rails as well... perfect for getting to my gas tank Has one of those little "flippper" switches so my guess is it came out of some sort of two door coupe. ] There is lettering in the foam 20421686 on one side and F-E(F?)-8 on the other side, not sure if that means anything If additional pics would help let me know. I am trying to find the OEM color so I can match a few interior pieces to them and possibility repair the seats as well. Thanks for any input!!! |

Re: any Chevy Gurus out there?....
They do not look like any GM seat I've ever worked on.
Most of my '60s models, with buckets, had "strato" backed seats.

Re: any Chevy Gurus out there?....
The recliner and "flipper" look the same as a early to mid 80's S-10. But those seats are not S truck. They may be General from the early to mid 80's because those two plastic pieces just speak to me saying remember.

Re: any Chevy Gurus out there?....
Definitely not from a Chevelle. Maybe a Corvair or something odd like that?

Re: any Chevy Gurus out there?....
I think you need to search Ford or Ford product like a Jaguar.

Re: any Chevy Gurus out there?....
Not from the 60's due to the reclining feature....there were some recliners in the late 60's luxury cars I think but they were few and far in between....plus the reclining leaver is plastic so I don't think the 70's either......I'm going to say they're from the 80's. Definitely looks like a GM reclining lever so I'd look at GM subsidiaries like Buick, Caddy, Opal, Saab from that time frame.

Re: any Chevy Gurus out there?....
Not Chevelle or early Firebird ,but they look very comfy ,if they bolt in and sit right I would recover them and use them ,they look good.
