Anyone ever seen this seat?
Once you're done drooling over Sandra Bullock, pls tell me if you've ever seen this seat - it's in a 71 med olive truck, which, of course, I like a lot. But it seems I've seen this non-highlander-like plaid elsewhere, and was just wondering if it was perhaps some rare option of which I am unaware.... Ha. And, it has Sandra Bullock in the picture, so if I learn nothing about the seat, it's still a win-win.

Re: Anyone ever seen this seat?
I'm still expecting the obvious reply: "What seat?"...
Also makes one wonder if she was toolin around in this cool truck during her Jesse James days. Who knows. He has some nice old chev trucks at his Austin shop. |

Re: Anyone ever seen this seat?
Not sure what material that is, I've only ever seen the stuff more like Andy's 2nd pic and I'm not sure that's 100% correct either (note it's also used on the dash and doors, so may be aftermarket version of material that's not 100% correct).
I'm also not 100% convinced that's Sandra. Is that a known pic of her from a movie or something?

only saying the 1st one is olive highlander plaid material applied in a custom way. But it is correct highlander plaid. Yep, that's Ms. B.

Re: Anyone ever seen this seat?
None of those pics match what she's sitting on. Looking at the door panel (wood grain with chrome trim around, like mine), it's a 71' Deluxe?

Re: Anyone ever seen this seat?
After studying this picture closely for a few minutes... I did finally notice the seat and truck. Ya, that's Sandra
I do kinda like the plaid. Not my speed, but I like it. Of course, anything can look good with a classy pretty woman sitting in it.

Re: Anyone ever seen this seat?
Sexy arm pit. See? My mind isn't in the gutter,it's in her arm pit.
I don't think that's the same plaid. Could be non-original. But it was available,at least in GMCs,other than as part of the Highlander pkgs. But,only in '72 as far as I know.

But 72's don't have that style door panel. Wrong?

Just so we understand, he wasn't asking about factory seats.

Re: Anyone ever seen this seat?
Oh, ya'll are still talking fabrics? My point was - Sandra is sitting in a 71' (like mine) not a 72'. Proof is with the door panel.

Re: Anyone ever seen this seat?
Ha, what have I started... Yes, yes, that is Ms. B. Yes, yes, it is a 71 Deluxe (since no headliner). So, Tim, that WAS available on GMCs?? Which yrs? Knew it wasn't highlander (and wrong year if it was) so I was assuming it was just custom but could've sworn I'd seen it in other trucks before. Maybe I saw it in a GMC... That would explain it. I like it. Think plaid is a cool fabric in old trucks.

Re: Anyone ever seen this seat?
In '72 you could get a Sandr...I mean,a GMC with the same plaid as Highlanders, but the pattern was turned sideways (1/4 turn). You never see these and I don't know specific details, such as only with Super Custom ('72 GMC equivalent to Custom Deluxe). Only know I've seen it shown in a brochure

Re: Anyone ever seen this seat?
Is there a member of this forum that can come up with a pic of a GMC with Highlander plaid? I've searched and had no luck. Oh, and I think Sandra is real nice lookin'.

Tim, correct me if I'm wrong, in the picture you posted, that looks like orange plaid in a medium bronze painted truck.
