fix dent chrome bumper

i found a chrome 67 factory bumper for 25$ and i have none at all on my truck.

the problem is it has a dent upwards on top of the bumper like it was pulled by it. but not terribly bad. gradual and like 1/2 inch or less.

question...

with a mallet and rags or something, is there any way to pound it back down somehow? or get it faily straight? rest of the bumper is fine.

Re: fix dent chrome bumper

I actually beat a dent out of a bumper once with a huge rubber mallet. It depends on where and how deep the dent is though.

Re: fix dent chrome bumper

Go for it. Can't beat the price. I got mine from the junk yard, and it had some similar issues along the edge. I was able to heat it with a heat gun and pound it with a rubber mallet and a rag over it.

Nope. I just shined it up with some Mother's chrome polish on a drill bit buffer pad. Here's another shot
