Re: por-15 vs powder coating

Powder coat is 100x better than Por15. It will actually adhere.....

Re: por-15 vs powder coating

If you can afford to powder coat it go for it,If its done right it will look like glass nice and smooth.Por15 will be a lot cheaper but the finish on it is kinda rough vs powder coating. Both will be rock hard once cured and take a beating. If its going to be a show truck powder coast it if its just a normal truck por15 it no one will see the frame.

Re: por-15 vs powder coating

I stripped my frame bare, applied por15 and top coated it with a satin. It laid down great and is just as durable in my opinion... if done right. I spilled brake fluid, pwr steering fluid, trans fluid, you name it on the frame and it wipes right off with no peeling.

I agree, if it's a show truck powder coat. If not, por15 will work great. Just make sure your frame is clean of dirt, grime, etc. And top coat it!

Re: por-15 vs powder coating

you can always sand/blast it and paint it with a good enamel paint
