door switch

the door switches on my 71 c10 were cut when i got it. can anyone tell me or even better post a pic of where they tie into so i can get them to work. the in cab light works with a turn of the head lite switch i would just like it to come on when i open the door... thanks

There is a White wire from each switch that has a connector on the end of it. You unplug the connector for the dome light just below the fuse box (Orange & White wires) and plug these connectors into each end of the dome light circuit. It's one of those things that is hard to type out instructions for but it is actually pretty simple. I have a dome light wire loom out and I will take a picture of it in the morning....

ok here is what I see, i think the wire with the tie wrap holding it together is the one that goes to the dome and the other one goes to the cab bed light . so whenever the PO cut the wires to the door switches he must have removed that wire harness that you have pictured. if I am right looking in the LMC book I need to get and add the courtesy light harness to the connector that is tie wrapped together and wire it to the door switches. what is your insight on this LockDoc?

If you have the switches this would be what you need.
