New engine and some questions
How do you attach accessories to an engine with camel/double-hump heads? I just brought a nice sbc 358 home with me, paid a song and dance for it (at least I think so) and the guy said all I had to do was find accessory mounts. I'm just curious as to where I should be looking.
Also, the guy I got this from said there is a "short" and "long" water pump, and that I have to match the accessory mounts for the water pump. Any idea what I should be looking for on that one?

Brackets available here.
http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/ To check for the pump difference, just look between the back of the pump and the timing cover. A short pump has only 1/4 inch wide distance whereas a long pump is closer to 3/4 inch. |

Re: New engine and some questions
Great, thanks. I don't have a water pump at all for it yet. So I guess I just match up whatever I choose to use? Or is there an advantage to using one over the other? I do plan on running a/c in my truck if it matters.

Re: New engine and some questions
Depends where you want your a/c, altenator and ps pump.
The long pump allows the altenator to tuck in low in front of the passenger side head. PS pump in it's normal location and a/c up top. You'll need to get some ideas of the best set up from that link. |

Re: New engine and some questions
Are there any other options that aren't going to cost me $250 for 3 brackets?
