Can you identify this part?

I found this lying loose inside my 72 c10 passenger door today as I was disassembling it. Anyone know what it is and where it goes?

Re: Can you identify this part?

What type of mirror? Mine had this large bracket which held a massive mirror and it also had three holes on each door which you can see but there was no mirror like that on either side.

you have 3 exsisting new holes in your image and thats where it goes...
with the corresponding type mirror which is not what you have in your hand.

Re: Can you identify this part?

I worked at a GMC dealer's body shop. We did not put big backing washers behind west coast mirrors as if the bolts pulled out it was easier to fix than having the door destroyed when the mirror hit something

The kind of mirror that fits those other mirror mount holes in your door. It dropped when they switched mirrors. It's the 71/72 standard mirror that people now can a sport mirror
