1972 Super Tailgate Moulding Question

Hi, have a question for you guys. Have a 72 Super SWB I am building, my question is is there a lower moulding that goes under the wood tailgate band on a 1972 Super?

Thanks
Eddie

I agree with this... However, if it was a CST blazer it probably would have the extra trim.

Re: 1972 Super Tailgate Moulding Question

Cheyenne, Cheyenne Super, Sierra, Sierra Grande, CST came with the wood grain tailgate band which deleted the trim along the bottom of the gate commonly found on custom deluxe and other models.

If you come across a tailgate that has both the wood grain band and trim along the bottom, it was put together incorrectly. One or the other but not both.

I have seen a few CST blazers over the years with the upper, woodgrain band and lower trim on them.

And my '71 2wd CST blazer does not have the trim below the woodgrain panel. Weird.

Maybe someone modified mine, it had been painted a couple times.

Re: 1972 Super Tailgate Moulding Question

I posed this question before:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=476895

Consensus was K5 CST got both, trucks one or the other only.

Re: 1972 Super Tailgate Moulding Question

I think skrenly was sticking to trucks with his reply. The original poster was asking about trucks.

Re: 1972 Super Tailgate Moulding Question

Does anybody know the part number for 1972 k10 with the woodgrain tailgate trim? I have been looking for a number of the trim piece with the chrome letters Chevrolet across it. thanks, Steve
