Fuel Injected

If I wanted to make the change to a aftermarket fuel injection set up that requires a electric fuel pump that produces 50 psi. Could I use the existing tank (behind the seat) with a external electric fuel pump?

If so how would I deal with the fuel return line back to the tank?

There are others like this one:

You get the idea though. Use your mechanical pump on the block to fill the sump with the high pressure pump inside, then plumb that high pressure to your EFI set up.

Re: Fuel Injected

Use an external E2000 fuel pump and the charcoal canister line for a return.

Depends on where it was built. My ‘70 was built in Fremont and it had the evap system on it.

Well mine had it. Don’t know why anyone would add it if it wasn’t factory.

Re: Fuel Injected

You can buy a sending unit with a return line. That's what I did with my '71.
