70 TH400 crossmember

Can someone please let me know which direction this TH400 crossmember goes in my frame? Single hole towards the front of the truck or multiple holes? Thanks.

Also I have multiple holes in my frame from factory. Which are the correct ones?

I believe that answers my question. One hole faces towards the rear.

Thanks!

Do you have a SBC or BBC in your truck? That may make a difference.

Good point. Mine pictured is a SBC 350. I don't know the answer.

Re: 70 TH400 crossmember

It can only fit one way.
Trans mount to the front.
If you try trans mount to the rear, the crossmember hits the pan.

Re: 70 TH400 crossmember

There's no trans mount on the crossmember. The holes for the trans mount are dead center in the crossmember. I also want to know what holes in the frame to use for mounting.
