EFI Holley Sniper
Hey guys I hope all is well for everyone. I’m sure it’s been discussed before and if so forgive my asking.. the other day my brother mentioned the Sniper unit from for about 1200. I have to replace the intake seals anyway on my 69 350 and thought it may be a nice bump in drivability verse the 4 barrel Rochester carb. Granted I like old school stuff, so no chances of me changing the engine to an LS unit. I am a huge fan of LS engines since my HD has the 6.0, but I’m considering the Sniper route, and want to keep my truck somewhat old school.... so what’s your take on the unit? Good ? Bad? Jury still out? How easy or difficult to install? I have a HEi distributor already, I think it’s called rapid fire if I recall... anyway just looking for some answers of a possible swap in the near future. Thanks guys for the replies.!

Re: EFI Holley Sniper
I put one on my 66 c10 almost 2 years ago. I highly recommend them. I have had zero problems from the first start up. Not to difficult to install, depending on what tank you are using original or after market?
You need a place in the tank to run a return line. You can use the sending unit if there is enough room to Put it there. Also you can put it in the filler tube. |

Re: EFI Holley Sniper
Thanks, yes original tank in the cab. I heard that the pump is loud? Is that all the time or just upon start up?

Re: EFI Holley Sniper
My tank and pump is mounted under the bed and I can't hear it at all. I don't know how loud it would be if you mounted it under the cab.

Re: EFI Holley Sniper
I install sniper on my previous 70 c10. It was easy ti install using supplied directions. I used a edelbrock sump install in engine compartment so I would have submersed pump.

Here's a link to another member's experience with the Sniper unit. He included another link inside this one as well. It may be worth your time to take a look at it.

Re: EFI Holley Sniper
Lots of reading ... so now now to quite sure about that product... I wonder if they made improvements to it or not. Anyway it’s had to say... I may just get the Qjet dialed in by someone better then myself and stick with that for a while. We will see..... thanks again.
