My 68 Gmc
I got my 68 Gmc back when I was young planed on building a low rider with a strong 350 in it got into 4x4 with it changed plans searched for a 4x4 frame for it
My original frame was stolen shortly after i swapped it to 4 wheel drive I did not like the long box step side I ran it as a flat deck until I picked up a 67 box Parked it when the steering box got to worn out shortly after I picked up a 70 K20 Fixing up my dads 72 k10 so decided to make my 68 back into a 2 wheel drive again I will remember how much I robbed from it to fix my other K10s i own as i go Wipers went to the 70 short box 4x4 I had got from New Mexico and the black interior went to 69 short box 4x4 from Arizona |

Re: My 68 Gmc
I have been looking for a 2 wheel drive frame I found one that the back was cut going to use that to convert a 69 C20 frame to a half ton drive train
Funny when I got the c20 it came as a package deal I had to take both trucks even though I had no interest in the c20 I picked up a 95 G20 which will donate its new brakes and rotors to my project I also picked up a 99 express van which is donating its 5.7 vortec engine I will most likely use a 5 speed from a 96 C1500 i would rather use my richmond gear 6 speed from my old camaro but have not figured out how to move the shifter to be able to keep the bench seat i have two kids cant build a truck they both cant drive in Pulling the motor out of the 99 this week while the heads for the 72 are getting machined for a larger cam Switching the vortec acc brackets for the brackets of a 92 c1500 as the 92 has a new cs130 alt where the van has a new cs144 alt which would be better for the 4x4 with a winch Last edited by gmc684x4; 08-18-2020 at 03:17 AM. |

Re: My 68 Gmc
Nice project and you have had some cool trucks. Which wheels are you thinking you want to use? The rally looking ones?

Re: My 68 Gmc
Changed the truck arms yesterday Temp bolted in the rear end to make a rolling chassis.
Today I removed the old cab and smashed front clip . Now i can pull it to more level ground and inspect how i like this frame |
