Help me buy a rear bumper please
I took off the bent steel bumper I had, and now I want to replace it with a chrome one.
The one I removed bolted directly to the frame, not to inner and outer braces. So now I need to buy braces and a bumper. Any recommendations on where to buy? Prices seem all over the place. This will not be a show truck, just a weekend cruiser. But I do want the braces and the bumper to look good and most importantly fit correctly.

Re: Help me buy a rear bumper please
Measure the width of the frame rails and go to a you pull scrapyard.
Squares had the same width frame rails BTW so 73-91 in some models will work. |

Re: Help me buy a rear bumper please
The reconditioned / rechromed bumpers are favored by a number of members , Ask Davis Chevy he's bought a few . And your in Texas so shipping shouldn't be too bad .
You can buy auto metal direct thru summit for $9.99 shipping . Good mark thru Summit https://www.summitracing.com/parts/gmk-4143800674a / https://www.summitracing.com/parts/gmk-4143807672s

Re: Help me buy a rear bumper please
After market step bumper. Put it right in the frame and bolted it up. I think I had to re drill 2 holes. Nice and strudy and it's 20 + years old and still looks new.It does have a few dings in it though.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

Re: Help me buy a rear bumper please
I used a Fey bumper with square body brackets. After it was installed it was not quite level so I reamed the holes on the brackets and all was good.
