Seat Covers
I got an e-mail (finally) this morning from SMS saying my seat cover will ship in April. I got one last Nov. saying it would ship in Dec. We'll see....it's been 11 months.
Mine was the standard pattern, not Deluxe. |

Re: Seat Covers
I guess that the general consensus - from what I have gathered - is that they are worth the wait. Hope you like them.

Re: Seat Covers
Mine are from PUI. Ordered in July and received in March. I got a local dealer to order the backseat and was told 30 weeks. They look great though and install was easy enough.

Re: Seat Covers
Got my seat covers delivered Monday May 9th, two days short of one full year after being ordered. It was worth the wait. They are EXACTLY like the originals! Will get them completely installed this weekend.

Re: Seat Covers
Very nice . That is the pattern my daughters '72 C10 has and my '72 K5 had , I've replaced the K5 front seats with houndstooth covers ( picture below ) but the rear is still fine .

Re: Seat Covers
Just got my seats installed today. About 90% happy. SMS must have cut the seat portion too short, because I had to get a thinner foam just to make it work. This is AFTER my upholsterer adding 4" to it just to get it to fit. There is a gap between the cushions that the seat belts will fall through. At this point, I'm gonna call it good for now. I just want this thing on the road. I've sent an e-mail to SMS along with pics. Will see what they say. The first pic is of the bottom and you can see the 4" added at the very bottom.
Anyway, it's getting close to being on the road and I'm excited! Just have to drop on the front clip, hook everything up and break in the engine. Slowly but slowly........... |

Re: Seat Covers
Sounds like there was some extra effort involved, Vince, but I think the results were well worth it...it looks great! My bench tops and bottoms fit together without a gap...but I struggle getting the seatbelts back through every time I reinstall them! How often do I have to reinstall them you ask? The number of times has surprised me...but I guess that's because I did my interior first and have been tring to protect it when working on interior related tasks. You are moving right along at a great pace...I'm envious!

Re: Seat Covers
No. I found a complete set of white ones with the rear panels. I just dyed everything black to match my interior. My original belts were green.

Re: Seat Covers
You've just made some parchment interior Burban owner start crying.
I really need to find some extra days in the month to get my interior spruced up. All your good work is making my interior look pretty shabby. Did you go to the Tigers on the Columbia last weekend?

Re: Seat Covers
I was lucky to find a guy that had all the pieces I needed and wanted for the Suburban a few years ago. It's all starting to come together now. Hopefully will be on the road this month!
Yes I did! Good show. |

I know but somewhere along the way I became addicted to food and shelter.
