afb question.. . .. .
How can I test the electric choke on my 1406? Is there a spec I can check for with my dvom? If my choke is bad, can I use a choke from a conversion kit for a manual choke afb? Thanks for any help.

Just run a jumper from + post of battery to + terminal of choke--watch to see if choke blade starts to open after a few seconds--if working ok it will open all the way. Should work ok on 2nd ?.

I was assuming the engine is cold for the test.

You must have it hooked to something that is hot all the time. Use a test light and with switch off see if you are getting power to + terimnal. If so change the source to one with power with switch on only.

Jason, if it was hooked straight to the battery, then it probably was killing it.
