Re: project 62

Where are you getting the geometry for the rear end set up?

scotts62 06-02-2009 07:45 AM

Re: project 62

Like as far as the pinion angle or the whole setup plan?

jason65 06-02-2009 07:47 AM

Re: project 62

Length of draglinks. Is it going to be a 3 link?

scotts62 06-02-2009 07:49 AM

Re: project 62

I forgot the length of the bars, i think they are around 31"
No a wishbone setup.

jason65 06-02-2009 07:51 AM

Re: project 62

So how did you come up with the length?

scotts62 06-02-2009 07:54 AM

Re: project 62

Just made the bars, i heard that the longer the bars the better the ride and the angle at the frame would be a perfect place to mount them.

Re: project 62

I found out that they aren't as stout as they look. The gun valve developed a hole in the side from the sand and it started blowing out the side of the valve. And the tip you had was too small for the sand. I couldn't find replacements so I just bought another blaster like yours. I'll give you the valve from the new one and I'll see if I can order me one online.

Well i just have the hinges that it came with welded to the frame at the moment, that was just to make it to our meet a couple weeks ago. i do have an idea for it but its kind of hard to explain.

frmula505 06-11-2009 05:41 PM

Re: project 62

Yea i got the ones it came with. But with the quality you've showed on this project, I know you will come up with something better. I am working on an electronic latching system for mine now. I want to use actuators to raise and lower the front end, and solenoids and limit switches for the latching. I'll keep an eye out for this thread as you go along.

scotts62 06-11-2009 05:50 PM

Re: project 62

Well thanks i appreciate it!
I had a latch in the center with two gas shocks, similar to a camaros rear hatch and it worked pretty good but these hoods really need 2 latches on each side. I used the hood pins before but was thinking i could come up with something a little better.
